Guests will enjoy a curated mix of signature Library experiences and the spirit of Medora. Highlights include a Grand Opening Picnic, First Looks at the new Library, private VIP Tours, and access to programming that explore Roosevelt’s legacy, leadership, and love of the American outdoors.

Beyond the Library, guests are encouraged to explore a wide range of activities and experiences in and around Medora, from horseback rides and guided hikes to the Medora Musical, parades, and local celebrations. While the Library produces select signature moments, many additional activities are offered independently throughout Medora and may be discovered and booked directly with local providers.

Each evening, the celebration continues with a breathtaking drone show over the Badlands, illuminating the landscape that inspired a president.

In the untamed Badlands of North Dakota — where wind carves stone and the horizon seems endless — a young Theodore Roosevelt stepped off a train in 1883 and into the land that would forge a president.

Here, he rode the open range, ranched under vast skies, and embraced the “strenuous life,” testing his courage and resolve against the raw power of the American frontier.

It was in these wild lands that Roosevelt was transformed. It was here that his vision for America took shape, laying the foundation for modern American leadership and conservation.

Medora is a frontier town frozen in time. Picturesque, walkable, and surrounded by the painted canyons of the North Dakota Badlands, it offers a rare glimpse into the spirit of the Old West.

Nestled at the southern entrance to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, the town offers a rich mix of hospitality, history, and Americana charm. Wooden boardwalks, historic saloons, general stores, cafés, and old-fashioned ice cream parlors welcome guests into a storybook western setting.

In summer, the town bursts to life with music, conversation, and the legendary Medora Musical, a high-energy patriotic variety show performed nightly in an outdoor amphitheater.
