Spend an unforgettable evening outdoors in the heart of the Badlands, where the experience is as flexible and relaxed as you want it to be. Guests are free to explore Medora at their own pace before settling into one of its most iconic attractions—an open-air amphitheater carved into the hillside of Burning Gulch by local volunteers in 1958.
Over 4 million visitors have experienced the legendary Medora Musical, a lively celebration of Western heritage filled with history, humor, and high-energy entertainment. This country-western revue blends crowd favorites—from Dolly Parton hits to unexpected disco throwbacks—into a one-of-a-kind live performance under the open sky.
Expect good old-fashioned family fun, complete with thrilling variety acts, live horses on stage, and a dazzling fireworks finale. Each summer brings fresh surprises, all while honoring the legacy of Medora, Theodore Roosevelt, and the spirit of the American West.
Before the show, indulge in a uniquely Western dining experience: chefs prepare 12-ounce steaks on pitchforks, fondue-style. Paired with classic fixings and sweeping views of the Badlands, it’s a meal as memorable as the show itself.
Guests of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library will join this local experience on July 2nd. Please note that tickets for the Medora Musical and Pitchfork Steak Fondue must be purchased individually.
